SINGAPORE

Hao Yuan Development has been cautioned by the authorities for the botched sales of Forestville Executive Condominium (EC) in Woodlands.

The Controller of Housing (COH) said the developer of Forestville had launched the project for sale in December last year before getting necessary approvals from the relevant authorities.

Replying to Channel NewsAsia, the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) said Hao Yuan is now allowed to proceed with sale of Forestville.

This comes after obtaining the necessary approvals for the project’s development plans and that the details in the sales brochures are in accordance with what has been approved.

In December, the Controller of Housing had ordered Hao Yuan to stop the sale of units at the project pending investigation.

In a statement on Wednesday, the developer said sales will resume next Friday.

But URA said Hao Yuan’s misconduct has been put on record and the Controller of Housing will not hesitate to take action against the developer for future misconduct.

These include prohibiting the developer, the related directors, from selling uncompleted units in future.

Hao Yuan said the e-applicants who had made an expression of interest in December have been invited to make a booking of their previously selected unit between 22 and 24 June.

The project, which comprises 653 units, received some 1,200 applications.
