S$338 million Capitol Development Contract Awarded to Shimuzu Corporation

Ultra-luxurious residential project Eden Residences Capitol to be launched

Capitol Investment Holdings Pte. Ltd. (the “Company”), a joint venture company between Chesham Properties Pte. Ltd, Perennial (Capitol) Pte. Ltd. and Top Property Investment Pte. Ltd., has awarded a S$338.2 million contract to Shimizu Corporation, a leading Japanese construction company, for the development of the landmark integrated Capitol Development Project (“Capitol Development”).

Eden Residences Capitol, strategically sited in Singapore’s Downtown Core and comprising three historically and architecturally significant conserved buildings, Stamford House, Capitol Building and Capitol Theatre, will collectively be re-energised, adapted and conserved. Designed by renowned architect, Richard Meier & Partners Architects LLP, Capitol Development when completed will comprise a luxury hotel (at the newly-restored Stamford House and Capitol Building), an ultra-exclusive residential tower sitting atop the shopping mall (in place of the demolished Capitol Centre) and a cinema cum theatre for the arts venue (at the restored Capitol Theatre).

Eden Residences Capitol, with its unmatched location in Singapore’s Central Business District, excellent connectivity via the basement level to the City Hall Interchange Mass Rapid Transit (“MRT”) Station which serves the North-South and East-West lines, and the unique opportunity to link the past and the present with its three beautifully conserved buildings, is expected to become a landmark signature development for Singaporeans and tourists.

Eden Residences Capitol broke ground today and the project is expected to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2014. Eden Residences Capitol has also secured a 42-month tenure S$532.0 million syndicated loan facility from an OCBC-Ied consortium of banks for the financing of the development.
